Melissa Thoen, LCSW is a multilingual psychotherapist based in New York City. She identifies as a Latino, cis, heterosexual woman who over the past 15 years has  dedicated herself to the mental health field. Melissa is a therapist at the Ackerman Institute for the Family, helping couples and families overcome challenges.  Upon completing the University of Michigan’s Sexual Health Certificate Program as a sex therapist, Melissa established her private practice in Manhattan and is helping individuals and couples with issues related to intimacy.  Melissa is also a fitness enthusiast and an avid athlete. Her passion lies in completing endurance events and pushing herself to new levels.
